Making Compost
(organic fertilizer)

| Make a heap from grass clippings, weeds, garden & kitchen waste, animal manures, a good soak with water then cover with hessian bags. Turn over once a fortnight, and you will have rich black compost in around 6 to 8 weeks, depends on weather conditions. | Another system you could use is stack the compost material in a wire frame made out of concrete mesh, about a 1.2m high (3'.6") and a 1m (1') around. Use the same method. The heap in the background is about 3 weeks old, and has been turned over once a week. |
